Take the photo she actually wants.
The first time.

A short, phone-only course for regular guys who are tired of the twenty-minute photo stand-off on holiday — and want to hand the phone back and hear "oh, I love that."

  • ✓ Launching early 2027
A guy taking a photo of his girlfriend with his phone on a coastal trail at golden hour — she's laughing, not posing.fig. 01 — golden hour, coast trail. Shot on a phone.
Sound familiar?

“Can you take one of just me?”

You know how this goes. You've both been there.

A couple on a beach at sunset — she's reviewing a photo on the phone while he stands beside her, hands on hips, waiting.

The holiday stand-off

You're somewhere beautiful. She asks for one photo. Twenty minutes and forty attempts later you're both annoyed, the light's gone, and you still don't have the shot. It's embarrassing, and it ate a chunk of a day you'd waited all year for.

Outside a restaurant, a woman hands a phone to a nervous-looking guy while her two friends pose and wait for him to take the photo.

The group shot

Her friends hand you a phone. A couple at the viewpoint asks you to take theirs. It's the two of you and you want one that's actually good. Every time, you'd love to just nail it — and every time you kind of hope someone else steps in.

Close crop at a formal event: she's smiling at a photo of herself on the phone while he looks on, quietly pleased.

It's not really about the photo

You don't want her to be disappointed. You want her to feel good when you pick up the camera — like you see her. That's the actual thing. The photo is just proof.

Here's the thing

You're not bad at this.
Nobody showed you.

Good photos of a person aren't talent. They're four habits. Most guys have never been told any of them, which is why trying harder doesn't help — you just take more of the same photo.

Habit 1

Light

Find it before you find the pose. Most bad photos are a light problem wearing a pose costume.

Habit 2

Height

Camera at her waist, not your eyes. The single change that fixes the most photos, instantly.

Habit 3

Frame

Where she goes in the shot, what you leave out, and how to include the place without losing the person.

Habit 4

Direct

Five things to say so she moves instead of freezes. The part nobody teaches, and the part she notices most.

MOD 00Results tonight, not "eventually." Module 00 is 12 minutes and ends with a 5-minute shoot you do together. You'll see the difference before dinner's over.

Who's teaching this
Cole outdoors on a tree-lined street, smiling and pointing at the phone in his hand.

Hi, I'm Cole. I was bad at this.

For years, my girlfriend would hand me her phone and I'd hand it back with forty versions of the same bad photo. We'd burn half an hour of a holiday on it. She'd be polite about it, which was somehow worse.

I'm not a photographer. I'm a [job/role]. I got tired of the stand-off and went looking for what actually makes the difference — and it turned out to be a short list of things nobody had ever said out loud to me. Where to stand. Where the light is. What to say. How many to take.

It took about a weekend to get good. Not professional — good enough that she stopped checking the screen after every shot. This course is that list, in the order I wish I'd learned it, in the time it took me to figure out the first part.

Here's the honest deal: we're building the course right now, and the people on this list help decide what goes in it.

  • Tell us what to teach. You'll get a short request form — where your photos go wrong, the situations you want covered. The modules get built around real answers, including yours.
  • Talk it through, if you want. Option to book a phone call with me — bring the photos that didn't work, or the trip you're prepping for.
  • Locked in. Co-creators get the course for $19 — not the $39 launch offer, not the $59 full price.

We'll send updates as the course comes together.

Questions

The stuff you're wondering.

Do I need a real camera?

No. The whole course is shot on and for a phone. iPhone or Android, anything from the last ~5 years. If you later buy a camera, everything still applies.

How long does it actually take?

90 minutes of video, total. Module 00 is 12 minutes and ends with a shoot you do that night. Most people finish the rest over a couple of evenings.

Will he actually do it?

This is the real question, and we built for it. It's short, it starts with a win, the first lesson ends with a 5-minute shoot you do together, and we send a light nudge email over the following week. You are allowed to gift it with the condition "do module 00 with me tonight."

Is this going to make fun of him?

No. Nobody is the punchline here. The premise is that he was never shown — not that he is hopeless. The tone is the same as a buddy who happens to know the trick showing you the trick.

What if I'm the one buying it for him?

Great, you're most of our customers. The gift bundle ($79) includes a printable certificate, pocket cards, and a date-night shot list so it lands as a thing you do together, not homework.

When do I get it? (Pre-sale)

Full course delivers early 2027. Pre-order customers get Module 00 immediately so you can start tonight, and you lock in the pre-sale price.

What if it doesn't work for us?

30-day, no-questions refund. Email us, you get your money back. That includes the pre-sale.

I already know a bit about photography. Too basic?

If you already shoot manual on a mirrorless and direct people comfortably, probably. If you know the rule of thirds but your partner still deletes most of your photos, the gap is in light, height, and directing — which is most of the course.

Android or iPhone?

Both. Lessons show both, and the techniques are about where you stand and what you say, not which menu you tap.

Is there a community / can I ask questions?

Pre-sale customers get a private Q&A call after launch. Beyond that, reply to any email — it comes to a human.

Something else? hello@ig-bf.com — a human answers.
